SUMMARY:A Guided Visit to History House -133 Macquarie Street Sydney
DESCRIPTION:‘History House’ aka Wickham House is the home of the Royal Australian Historical Society (RAHS) and houses its wonderful research resources in its library. The building has recently been refurbished and it is a privilege to be hosted by the RAHS at this venue. Wickham House was designed by George Allen Mansfield and built in the Victorian Filigree style from 1853 – 1872 for George Oakes. The building was placed on the NSW State Heritage Register in 1999.Not only will we be visiting a beautiful building and hearing its history\, we will be given a guided tour through the library resources held there. Morning tea will also be served.The visit has been arranged for ADHS members and will be limited in numbers. Please register early as numbers are needed for catering purposes.Registrations by 12 th November please \n\n\n\nPlease register for this event before 12th November

SUMMARY:Californian Bungalow House Inspection
DESCRIPTION:Registration for this event has now closed. \n\n\n\nAs an apt sequel to Colin’s talk on the California Bungalow in June\, we have been generously given access to view a very original and sympathetically maintained Inter-War Bungalow in Summer Hill. A review by a Heritage Study described it as a “very intact and substantial residence of unusually fine bungalow character”. The owner has thoroughly researched the history of the property\, and will take one or two small groups through to inspect this outstanding example of the period. Refreshment will be provided. \n\n\n\nThe owner requests that shoes will not be worn inside the premises. \n\n\n\nNumbers must be limited\, Society members only. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe location will be advised to registrants a few days before the event.
